Dr. Scott C. Wise – Chief of Staff, Primary Care

Scott C. Wise, M.D. joined Valor Healthcare in July of 2007, as the Medical Director of the newly opened VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic in Denton, Texas. Over the next 18 months, the Denton Clinic became the top performing clinic in the VA North Texas Healthcare System and one of the best performing clinics statewide. Dr. Wise was appointed as Valor’s Chief of Staff for Primary Care in May of 2009.

Dr. Wise earned his medical degree at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas, and did his residency training while serving as an officer in the United States Army at Fort Bragg, NC, home of the 82nd Airborne Division. In 1995, he served as Chief Resident in Family Medicine and during his residency was elected North Carolina Family Practice Resident of the Year. During military service, his appointments included Director of Continuing Medical Education and Staff Physician for the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, and Staff Physician for the Department of Community and Family Medicine at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. After leaving military service, Dr. Wise served as Chief of Family Medicine at Medical City Hospital in Dallas.

Prior to joining Valor Healthcare, Dr. Wise was in private practice in the Dallas area for 10 years, first as a member of a small group practice before opening his own medical practice in Frisco, Texas. He is an author, speaker, and researcher in the fields of patient education and preventive health and is board certified in Family Medicine.
