Howard J. Lewin – Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board

Mr. Howard J. Lewin became the Chief Executive Officer of Valor Healthcare in November 2007. Mr. Lewin joined the Valor team with 21 years of health care experience, the past 12 years in general management positions. Most recently, Mr. Lewin was President and CEO of Aksys Ltd., a medical device company developing a dialysis machine for home use. From 1999 to 2004, Mr. Lewin was Group Vice President at Davita, Inc., a dialysis service company.

From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Lewin provided consulting services to restructuring physician practice management companies. Mr. Lewin served as Division President of Vivra, Inc. a dialysis service provider from 1994 until Vivra was sold to Gambo Healthcare in 1997.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Lewin was a consultant at Bain and Company and participated in founding Odyssey Biomedical Corp, a genetic diagnostic testing company that was sold to a subsidiary of Genzyme. Mr. Lewin has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Cornell University and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard University.
