February 2009:

Valor Director of Outreach, Jim Wheeler, received The Chapel of the Four Chaplains Bronze Medallion Award in Hawaii.

A special Chapel of the Four Chaplains Award Ceremony was held on February 24, 2009 at the Commander's office, Nimitz-MacArthur Pacific Command Center, Camp Smith, Hawaii.

The Chapel inducted Admiral Timothy Keating, Commander, U.S. Pacific Command and Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) James Wheeler into the Legion of Honor with the presentation of the Bronze Medallion. Conducting the ceremony was Robert Baker, chapel trustee.

The Bronze Medallion is awarded for outstanding contributions to the well-being of others on a national and/or international level to world peace, and to interfaith and interethnic understanding in keeping with the spirit of the Four Chaplains. Admiral Keating and Colonel Wheeler were honored for their efforts, which have gone above and beyond that which is normally required in the course of human experience.
