The Information Technology Director is directly responsible for all aspects of technical operations and strategies for the organization. This is a critical, working position that manages technical resources in day-to-day duties, executes on technical strategies as defined by the business, manages third party vendors and contracts, and provides oversight of all IT related functions. This position also provides oversight for technical aspects of information security requirements as required by state and federal regulatory bodies.

  • Provides leadership and oversight in the planning, implementation and maintenance for all information technology functions for the organization.
  • Advises management on technology developments that have impact to company strategies and operations.
  • Oversee development and management of information security related policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates technology deployments with customers and service providers.
  • Support the proposal process for new and renewal contracts and provide cost information; timely capability delivery on any awards and related build-out requirements.
  • Manage Office365 contract, tenant and vendor relationship.
  • Oversee development and availability of “BRAVE”, Valor’s primary clinic application that is used for Billing, Reporting and Veteran enrollment.
  • Ensure a standard development lifecycle and testing process is followed and quality standards maintained.
  • Evaluate cost effective alternatives to existing IT solutions and make recommendations to management.
  • Provide daily direction and prioritization of tasks for all team members.
  • Provide Project Management oversight for all IT projects.
  • Participate in management and budget meetings as required.
  • Manages relationships, to include delegating to subordinates or vendors, as well as using influential skills to ensure deliverables from peers are achieved.  Strong focus on accountability and execution. 
  • Oversees development and maintenance of financial /operational data/dashboard report(s), provide thought leadership on financial / operational business intelligence and reporting strategies for the organization.
  • Oversees compliance requirements related to areas of responsibility. This includes compliance with internal company-related policies.
  • Manage telecom contracts and vendor relationships.
  • Manage Valor IT asset lifecycle for thin clients, PC, printers, laptops and desktops.
  • Keep leadership apprised at all times on the health and availability of production systems, including those managed by outside partners.
  • Provide ongoing performance development with direct reports with a focus on high colleague engagement and collaboration.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
  • Five or more years’ direct management experience with three or more in a healthcare provider setting
  • Understanding of HIPAA related security policies
  • Understanding of financial systems reporting (ERP) capabilities
  • Understanding of business intelligence capabilities
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, SQL, IIS, .NET, Active Directory, and Office 365
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Hosting services a plus
  • Five or more years of support, management or administration of Microsoft and Cisco technologies in a production environment
  • Certification in Microsoft and Cisco technologies a plus Service Mentality, Attention to Detail, Sense of Urgency, Initiative and Flexibility
  • Ability to make decisions or solve problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions, including the ability to effectively multi-task and adapt to changing business priorities
  • Outstanding customer service skills as well as the ability to deal with staff, clients and vendors in a manner which shows tact and professionalism
  • The ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies
  • Requires strong interpersonal, communication, and customer services skills to ensure that customer requests or needs are met. Acknowledges and clarifies customer inquiries, requests, or complaints to ensure that needs are identified, documented and addressed.
